Hypersensitivity reactions to specific food allergens are common.
Biosmart was the first laboratory in Switzerland to offer gluten analysis. Since this time, the range of available analyses has been continuously extended.
Most current methods: protein assay, ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), PCR (DNA-based polymerase chain reaction).

Range of allergens to be analyzed:
almond, Brazil nut, casein, cashew nut, celery, crustaceans, egg, gluten, hazelnut, lupine, macadamia nut, mustard, peanut, pecan, pistachio, sesame, soy, walnut, fining agents in wine.
